Title: A resolution to amend Article VIII, Section 1.1 of the Bylaws of the Ohio Chapter of APCO.
At the May 22, 2019 membership meeting, the Constitution and Bylaws committee is offering to the quorum Resolution 2019-01, a resolution amending Article VIII, Section 1.1 of the Bylaws of the Ohio Chapter to read:
“The Standing Committees of Ohio APCO shall be: Constitution and Bylaws, Training, Awards & Scholarships, Legislative, Nominating, 9-1-1 & Communications Center Management, and Frequency Advisory.”
This amendment will create a new standing committee, “9-1-1 and Communications Center Management”. First discussed at our February 20, 2019 meeting, President Persons proposed creating this new standing committee to address the concerns and issues facing our members that manage 9-1-1 systems, public safety answering points and communications centers. This committee will also serve as an advisory group to the Ohio APCO Executive Board on legislative, technical and operational issues related to 9-1-1.
In accordance with the procedures established in Article V, Section 1 of the Constitution of the Ohio Chapter of APCO, this resolution will be presented to the quorum at the May 22, 2019 chapter meeting for discussion and vote. A two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of the quorum is required for passage.
