In December of 2007 the Ohio 9-1-1 Council adopted the NCMEC Model Call-Taker guide as a state standard for call takers to follow when taking calls about missing and victimized children. To help facilitate and encourage national PSAP recognition and adoption of the Model Call-Taker guide, the NCMEC Joint Steering Committee has designated 4 states for an accelerated outreach program and Ohio has been designated as one of the 4 states. We have been granted a unique opportunity to receive priority in-state training as well as other unique training opportunities at designated national conferences.
The time is now to learn about this standard and train your staff before a tragedy such as a missing child hits your Communications Center. Why wait, take an 8 hour day and get the tools you, as a Director, and your training officer(s) need to help the parents of your community rest assured that your employees have the knowledge to assist them in their time of crisis. It simply makes sense. Click on the following links to review the descriptions of each of the FREE courses being made available to Ohio agencies with the help of Ohio APCO.
